Supporting MetroWest’s nonprofits to build capacity and achieve their missions

Each year, the Foundation for MetroWest awards grants to help hundreds of local nonprofits meet critical needs for residents. We take this support a step further through our Center for Philanthropy Education, where we empower nonprofit leaders to make a greater difference in our community.

The Center for Philanthropy Education offers seminars, leadership training series, networking events, and peer-to-peer collaborations – all free of charge – to the over 650 nonprofit organizations in MetroWest. These programs provide opportunities for nonprofits to increase visibility, improve their connections, and get the expertise they need to deliver their missions and solve the most challenging issues facing our neighborhoods.

By strengthening MetroWest’s nonprofits, you are empowering them to make a bigger impact for the causes you care about most.

MetroWest nonprofits are working to strengthen our communities and quality of life. Since its inception, our Center for Philanthropy Education has offered free education and resources to 418 of these vital organizations.

In 2015, we took a large step toward securing that future: with the help of a lead gift of $500,000 from Middlesex Savings Charitable Foundation, the Center for Philanthropy Education is well on its way to permanent endowment.

In 2016, a total of 472 nonprofit staff, board members, and volunteers attended 33 workshops held throughout the year.

Together, let’s help more local nonprofits to grow, thrive and work for a brighter future for MetroWest.

What our nonprofits are saying

“The Foundation for MetroWest has been wonderful for us…it goes beyond funding. It’s really about the sustainability of nonprofits that are doing good work, and are well managed.”

Trish AppertExecutive Director, Bethany Hill Place

“The impact of these workshops, seminars, and leadership series has an undeniable ripple effect. They strengthen the nonprofits operating in our region, that in turn strengthen the communities we call home.”

Dana NeshePresident of Middlesex Savings Charitable Foundation

“Of all partners, the Foundation for MetroWest is the foundation I owe the most for my professional development. I have learned so much from the incredibly experienced and knowledgeable speakers you chose for your workshops. I was able to accomplish so much because of the tremendous help from your foundation.”
